Rupanya gula Malaysia dijual ke Singapura. Adakah ini punca gula tiada di Malaysia ? Harga gula di Semenanjung Malaysia ialah RM1.65 sekilo manakala di Singapura ialah RM3.05, lagi untung jual di Singapura. Enam gerabak keretapi kargo dari 30 gerabak yang membawa gula dari Prai , Pulau Pinang ke Singapura telah tergelincir pada 23 Jun 2010 di Kluang.
Kerajaan perlu dedahkan berapa banyak gula diekspot ke luar negara berbanding dijual di pasaran domestik !
JOHOR BAHARU, 23 Jun (Bernama) -- Enam gerabak kargo bersama muatan gula tergelincir di KM653.5-KM654. 5 antara Paloh ke Chamek, dekat Kluang, awal pagi Rabu.
Pemangku Pengurus Kanan Komunikasi Korporat Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) Mohd Fazil Ismail berkata kejadian itu berlaku pada pukul 2.43 pagi ketika kereta api 30 gerabak itu sedang dalam perjalanan dari Prai, Pulau Pinang ke Singapura.

KTMB said in a statement that the train, which was carrying sugar from Prai, Penang, to Singapore, derailed at 2.43am.

PUTRAJAYA: Sugar will cost 20 sen more per kg from today, with the new price being RM1.65 in the peninsula and RM1.75 in Sabah and Sarawak, it was announced yesterday.
He said the new sugar price, after the 20-sen increase, was relatively low compared with prices in other Asean countries such as Thailand (RM2.50 per kg), Singapore (RM3.05), Indonesia (RM3.40) and the Philippines (RM3.62).
He said the increase in the sugar price was necessitated by the rise in the price of raw sugar in the world market, and that the government still subsidised the price at 80 sen per kg or RM1.008 billion for the year.
